The Definitive List of the Top Ten Best LEGO Collectible Minifigures
3 December 2024 by Graham
LEGO Collectible Minifigures (CMFs) were first introduced in 2010 and there have since been 47 series, including 26 regular series and 21 licensed or themed series, with nearly 700 minifigures to collect. CMF series are typically where LEGO introduces some of its most creative and original minifigures that are amongst the very best you can buy. In this article, I run through the ten highest rated CMFs as of the beginning of November 2024. This list is based on over 500,000 user ratings, and if you want to have your say on what the best CMFs are, you can vote for your favourites here.
The Vampire Knight is the newest CMF in the top ten, having been released in Series 25. This was a remake of the Bat Lord character who was the protagonist of the Fright Knights faction from the late 1990s. There's a lot of nostalgia around classic LEGO Castle and as a result this minifigure proved to be very popular. But nostalgia aside, it included some amazing printing, dual-moulded legs, and a nice cape to top it off.
The Faun from Series 15 is one of two characters from Greek mythology to find itself in the top 10. Fantastical and historical characters have always been a hit amongst LEGO fans, so it's no surprise that they dominate the top tiers of LEGO CMFs. The Faun introduced two brand new moulds, the first being the goat legs that has since been used on various animal-themed minifigures, and the second being the horn/hair piece.
The Yeti from Series 11 is the only new entrant to the top ten this month, which has moved up three places from 11th.
The Minotaur from Series 6 is the second mythical minifigure in the top ten and moves up one place from last month. This minifigure has a great mould of the creature's bull's head and some nice printing, especially on the legs. The Minotaur is another very cool character to have as a minifigure.
Having a demolition dummy as a minifigure was a genius move and a match made in heaven. There's a definite beauty in the simplicity of this minifigure and it's one of the most iconic CMFs. The Demolition Dummy appeared in the very first series and is the oldest in the top ten.
Another Castle inspired minifigure to make the top ten is the Classic King from Series 13. This minifigure has consistently been among the top five CMFs and currently sits in 5th place, down one from last month. There are some great colours on this minifigure and the ermine cloak is a very nice detail. It's definitely worthy of its place in the top ten.
Two wizards currently make the top ten. The first is the good wizard who has some charming moon and star printing across the torso, legs, and cloak. This minifigure was included in Series 12 and can be seen as an upgrade to, and perhaps a reimagining of, Majisto, who was the wizard in classic Castle sets.
Evil characters often make for better minifigures, and it seems this is true here. The Evil Wizard was released one series after the “good” Wizard to act as his antagonist. This minifigure has a great two piece cloak and some very cool skull printing down his front. Along with the Classic King, he was the minifigure everyone wanted from Series 13.
There have been several Roman-themed CMFs and the Roman Commander is clearly the best according to our users. There is a big demand in the LEGO community for more historical sets, and a Roman theme is very high on many AFOL wishlists, so this minifigure was much sought after. The minifigure itself has a great helmet and armour printing. This minifigure is up four places from last month.
The Conquistador moves up four places from November to take the top spot this month. This is one of my personal favourite CMFs so it's nice to see it right up there. He has a fantastic gold breastplate and a great colour scheme, which make him one of the best looking CMFs. LEGO Pirates has always been popular and this minifigure makes a great addition to any Pirate-themed MOC.
